Infrastructure forum has particular significance for Macau

The 6th International Forum on Investment and Construction of Infrastructure in Macau has a very particular meaning to the special administrative region of China whose tourism industry is one of its pillars, said Thursday the Secretary for Economy and Finance.

Leong Vai Tac said that the Macau government hoped, through this Forum, to make use of its platform to foster construction of international infrastructure and investments and, together with various governments and operators, make a contribution to construction of infrastructure around the world.

The deputy representative for international trade negotiations of the Chinese Trade Ministry, Zhang Xiangchen said the “One Belt, One Road” strategy outlined by the government is offering many opportunities for investment and construction of international infrastructure.

T International Forum on Investment and Construction Infrastructure was held in Macau for the fourth time, andZhang thanked the government of the territory and said he expected participants from different countries to take advantage of the meeting to establish partnerships.

The meeting was attended by representatives from countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guinea-Bissau, Fiji, Maldives, Honduras, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Myanmar, Niger, Panama, Papua New Guinea , Sri Lanka, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, Britain, Uganda, Venezuela, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
