Macau businessman still interested in tourism project in Cabo Verde

17 June 2015

Macau businessman David Chow will travel to Praia in July to sign an agreement for construction of a tourist complex on the islet of Santa Maria with the Government of Cape Verde, said Minister Leonesa Fortes.

The Minister of Tourism, Investment and Business Development said, however, that the entrepreneur’s visit depends on the government approving the environmental impact of the building project on the islet, which is off the coast of the capital city.

Fortes gave assurances that Chow keeps is still interested in the venture, which includes a quality hotel, an international convention centre, a marina and a bridge connecting the islet to the main island, and renew the entire seafront in the Gamboa area completely changing the face of that part of the Cape Verdean capital.

The possible visit by the Macau businessman should coincide with commemorations of Cabo Verde’s independence. (macauhub/CV/MO)
