Portugal and Angola Thursday in Lisbon signed the new Executive Cooperation Programme (PEC), valid for the 2015/2018 four-year period, the Portuguese press reported.
The document was signed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Cooperation, Luis Campos Ferreira, and the Angolan Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs for Cooperation, Ângela Bragança.
This new PEC is based on three priorities – good governance, participation and democracy (institutional sectors), sustainable development and the fight against poverty (social sectors) and economic development and infrastructure.
In March, at a working meeting that the two Secretaries of State held in Luanda, to prepare the agreement now signed, it was stressed that the PEC will give greater emphasis to the areas of agriculture, energy and economy, without neglecting the traditional health and education sectors.
