29 July 2015

The World Bank will provide US$50 million to support education in Mozambique, as part of the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Education in the country, the bank said in a statement.

The amount, to be channeled through the Fund for Support to the Education Sector, will contribute to the expansion and improvement of the quality of education in Mozambique.

The funding will complement the approximately 53 million euros provided in May by the Global Partnership for Education organisation, for aid to the primary sector in Mozambique.

In total, the World Bank has provided around US$105 million to support school network expansion projects in the country and contribute to improving the quality of education in Mozambique. (macauhub/MZ)
