The 2015 edition of the Okavango Angola Tourism Fair takes place from 6 to 9 August next on the premises of the Luanda International Fair (Filda), the director of the Tourist Development Institute said.
Eugénio Clemente told Angolan news agency Angop that the aim of the fair was to create opportunities to showcase tourism in each municipality allowing the sector to contribute to the economic diversification of Angola and provide revenue.
The event, which as its name implies will promote development of the hotel industry and promotion of tourism in Angola, with the already confirmed participation of companies and organisations from South Africa, Guinea-Bissau and Kenya.
The fair’s manager, Luiana Valejo said, meanwhile, that the fair would cover an area of 15,000 square metres and have a range of cultural activities such as dance, theatre, literature, cuisine and history, among others, which will allow visitors to find out about Angola and the riches it has to offer.
Alongside the tourism fair there will also be a forum of municipalities and cities of Angola, attended by representatives of 163 municipalities from 18 provinces, as well as by public and private companies related to the tourism sector. (macauhub/AO/GW)
