Angola hopes to receive investment from South Korea, either directly or through partnerships, to help diversify the country’s economy, said Wednesday in Luanda the Secretary of State for Cooperation, Angela Bragança.
At the end of a meeting with a delegation led by the President of the Korea/Angola Friendship Group of South Korea’s parliament, Lee Hag Jae, in Luanda since Tuesday, Bragança recalled the great technological capability that South Korea has in the fields of electronics, automobile and ship construction, among others.
“We have much to gain from this cooperation and we are preparing the third meeting of the Bilateral Commission, to discuss future cooperation,” he said, recalling that Angola and South Korea already cooperate in fisheries, oil and shipbuilding, and a large number of South Korean companies already operating in the country.
The President of the Korea/Angola Friendship Group Korea, Lee Hag Jae, said the talks focused on the economic development of Angola, where his country can play a leading role in technological terms.
The Angola/Korea Friendship Group, of the South Korean parliament, is due Thursday to finish an official three-day visit to Angola, to enhance bilateral cooperation. (macauhub/AO)
