Angolan oil company Somoil announced it will increase production of onshore crude oil, in Soyo, over the next 10 years, according to Angolan daily newspaper Jornal de Angola.
The company’s director of exploration and development, Albano Augustine said that this month seismic studies would begin in the localities of Quinguila and Cabeça-de-Cobra that were expected to take until December 2016 in order to map existing reservoirs and production and to discover new deposits with economic potential.
Albano Augustine said Somoil produces 7,500 barrels of oil per day.
Since 2013 the Angolan company has carried out work to assess the commercial potential of reservoirs. (macauhub/AO)
