The population of Macau was 642,900 people at the end of last June, which was an increase of 2,200 compared with the number recorded in the first quarter, reported the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau.
Of the total population, 50.6 percent or 325,400 people were women.
With an area of 30.3 square kilometres, at the end of June Macau had a population density of 21,218 people per square kilometre, one of the highest in the world.
At the end of the first half there were 180,523 non-resident workers, which increased by 5,599 individuals from the previous quarter. (macauhub/MO)
