Guinea-Bissau’s Company Registration Centre registers almost 2,000 companies in two years

12 August 2015

At least 1,841 new companies were registered in Guinea-Bissau between May 2011 and 31 July, 2015, the Director-General of the Company Registration Centre (CFE) said in Bissau Monday.

Eduardo Pimentel said that in June and July of this year, the CFE registered over 70 companies which, in his opinion, makes Guinea-Bissau a model country in the sub-region for registering companies.

The Director-General of the CFE said the bureaucratic process for setting up a company in Guinea-Bissau at present takes no longer than eight hours.

Pimentel announced said the CFE, in collaboration with the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC), would soon start collecting on how companies operate, their needs and future prospects. (macauhub/GW)
