China appoints new ambassadors to Portugal, Mozambique and Timor-Leste

China has appointed new ambassadors to Portugal, Mozambique and Timor-Leste (East Timor) as well as four other countries, China’s official news agency Xinhua reported.

Cai Run was nominated for the Chinese embassy in Portugal, replacing Huang Songfu while for the Mozambique the new ambassador is Su Jian, who replaces Li Chunhua.

Su Jian was previously the Chinese ambassador to Cape Verde and Timor-Leste.

In Timor-Leste, Liu Hongyang will become the ambassador replacing Tian Guangfeng.

Liu Hongyang was previously at the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia.

The new Chinese ambassador to Portugal, Cai Run, 48, holds a Law degree, and among other posts, he was political advisor to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, having already directed the Department of Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (macauhub/CN/MZ/PT/TL)
