Macau has foreign reserves of US$18 billion

14 August 2015

Macau’s currency reserves stood at 144.6 billion patacas (US$18.11 billion) at the end of July 2015, increasing 0.4% compared to rectified figures for June, the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) said Friday.

The AMCM also said that foreign exchange reserves in Macau at the end of July represented about 13 times the money supply (M1) or 108.8% of the M2 aggregate in patacas.

The M1 aggregate includes notes and coins and current accounts and M2 includes M1 plus savings accounts and other funds generally referred to as “near money.” (macauhub/MO)
