Government analyses creation of Angolan Investment Promotion Agency

21 August 2015

Angola’s National Agency for Private Investment (ANIP) will be discontinued and replaced by the Angolan Investment Promotion Agency (API-Angola), according to a draft presidential decree analysed Thursday at a government meeting.

According to the statement issued after the meeting of the committees for the Economy and the Real Economy of the Council of Ministers of Angola, API-Angola aims to promote, capture and monitor private investment projects inside and outside the country.

The members of the two committees also appreciated the draft Private Investment Law Regulations, a legal instrument establishing the rules for procedures of the private investment proposals, in order to speed up decisions on, supervision and monitoring of approved projects.

The Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers’ mission is to address the government’s macroeconomic agenda and ensure macroeconomic management is in line with the objectives and priorities of the President’s economic governance programme.

The Commission for the Real Economy of the Council of Ministers is the technical body that supports the government in drawing up, implementing and developing policies to drive the manufacturing sector. (macauhub/AO)
