Macau has US$18 billion in foreign reserves in August

Macau’s foreign exchange reserves at the end of August totalled 145 billion patacas (US$18.17 billion), the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) said Tuesday.

The AMCM also said that, according to preliminary estimates, foreign exchange reserves recorded in August represented an increase of 0.3 percent over the rectified figure for July, when they totalled 144.600 billion patacas (US$18.11 billion).

At the end of August, Macau’s foreign exchange reserves accounted for about 13 times the money supply or 105.7 percent of the M2 aggregate in patacas. (macauhub/MO)
