Government of Angola analyses proposals to liquidate public companies

17 September 2015

The Angolan Council of Ministers analysed the proposals for legislation for official liquidation of Public Enterprise Sector companies, according to a statement issued Wednesday in Luanda.

The statement issued after a joint meeting of the Economic Commission and the Commission for the Real Economy of the Council of Ministers said that the proposed legislation was intended to deal with the situation of public enterprises that are either at a standstill or bankrupt.

The commissions also analysed the Fiscal Revenue Maximisation Programme, which aims to broaden the tax base and improve effectiveness of inspection and collection processes, in order to continue to increase non-oil revenues.

Members of both commissions also took an initial look at draft Presidential Decrees approving Regimes for Provisions, Depreciation and Amortisation of Fixed Assets in order to adjust them to the Industrial Tax Code. (macauhub/AO)
