The Guinea-Bissau Audit Office for the first time since it was created in 1992 has issued opinions on the general accounts of the State to the National Assembly, the Audit Office said in a statement published in Bissau.
In the statement, the Audit Office also said that the opinions are on the 2009 and 2010 financial years and were delivered to the Guinean parliament on 25 September.
The Audit Office did not specify, however, if the audited accounts were in line with legal procedures or not or the values concerned.
Recently, the Audit Office carried out a retreat for analysis of public accounts, and at the time its chairman, Vasco Biague, gave assurances that henceforth Guineans would be informed about state accounts. (macauhub/GW)
