Macau casino revenues fall in September for 16th consecutive month

Gross gaming revenues in Macau casino fell last September for the 16th consecutive month, registering negative growth of 33 percent compared to September 2014, said the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

In September, gross revenue reached 17.133 billion patacas (US$2.142 billion), lower than in June, when it stood at 17.355 billion patacas, the lowest monthly amount since the beginning of the year.

Figures on the DICJ website showed these were the lowest monthly figures since September 2010 when gross revenues totalled 15.302 billion patacas.

From January to September gross revenues from games of chance or gambling reached 176.015 billion patacas (US$22 billion), which was a decrease of 36.2 percent compared to 275.941 billion patacas in the same period of 2014 .

At the end of the first half of 2015 there were 35 casinos in Macau, 20 run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, four by Venetian Macau, three by Melco Crown Gaming (Macau), one by Wynn Resorts (Macau ) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a 5814 gambling tables and 14,192 slot machines.
