6 November 2015

The 19th edition of the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) International Fair (FIC) takes place from 18-22 November in Mindelo, having already been classified as “a success story” by the president of the event, according to the Cape Verdean press.

The statement from José Martins was based on the fact that the 165 “stands” available have already been sold as a result of high demand both nationally and internationally. The exhibition is organised by FIC in partnership with the Windwad and Leeward Chambers of Commerce of the Windward, the Chamber of Tourism and with the Lisbon International Fair.

Cabo Verde will be present at the event with 100 companies from all business sectors, and the international component will be made up of companies from Portugal, Spain, USA, Brazil, Egypt, São Tomé and Príncipe and India.

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will also be represented with delegations headed by the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.

At the same time as FIC, from 17-21 November, the first International Trade Forum will also be held, which according to Amilcar Monteiro, Director-General of Industry and Trade, will discuss trade policy, the investment regime, development of the sector and market access.

This initiative aims to produce a set of recommendations and then take it to decision-makers, Monteiro said.

The 2015 edition of FIC’s slogan is “Cabo Verde, a business platform for the world.” (macauhub/CV)
