Angolan air carrier Linhas Aereas de Angola has increased flights to the cities of Lisbon and Porto in Portugal and lowered ticket prices for Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil, the airline said in a statement issued in Luanda.
Increasing the number of flights to Portugal, between 16 December and 7 January 2016, seeks to address the high number of reservation requests for the festive season.
The company operates flights every day to Lisbon and on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays to Porto. The statement said that regular flights to these two European cities would not be changed.
The promotional fare for flights to the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo began on 6 November and will remain in place until 10 December.
Management of the Angolan airline was handed over to Emirates airline under an agreement signed in 2014, and the four executive directors appointed by the company from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Luanda last September.
Under the agreement, Emirates appoints the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Angolan company and three executive directors, a total of nine members.
Day to day management is the responsibility of the Executive Committee composed of the executive directors appointed by Emirates for the commercial, operational, financial and administrative departments. (macauhub/AO/PT)
