Millennium bim in Mozambique expands through “banking agents”

The Millennium bim bank in Mozambique launched a “banking agents” project, which allows traders to provide financial services by installing a payment and receipt terminal, said the bank in a statement.

This project, the statement said, enables Millennium bim customers to carry out a set of transactions such as cash withdrawals, transfers, utility payments, top-up payments and consult balances, among others.

Released in the year the bank celebrates its 20th anniversary, the project starts with 20 banking agents in seven provinces, and aims to have more than 500 agents throughout Mozambique by the end of 2016.

The chief executive of Millennium bim, José da Costa, said this project, called “Millennium bim Já Já”, reinforces the bank’s commitment to launching innovative services that promote financial inclusion of the population and promote economic growth real, particularly in rural areas. (macauhub/MZ)
