Portuguese airline takes first step into charter business with flight to Cabo Verde

30 December 2015

Portuguese airline Everjets has launched its charter services by carrying 178 passengers to Sal Island, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), on 25 December, the carrier said.

The flight, with a return scheduled for 2 January, was carried out in partnership with two travel agencies and complements the company’s growth strategy, which until now mainly operated regular flights.

Everjets was created in 2011 and is focused on business aviation and operating aircraft for civil protection. In November 2015 it launched regular flights to Madeira and the Portuguese mainland, with operations based in Funchal and Lisbon and Porto as destinations.

José Pereira, chief executive of Everjets, said that in February 2016 the company may offer a second flight to Funchal and launch air cargo trips between the Madeiran archipelago and the mainland. (macauhub/CV/PT)
