In 2015 Macau received about 31 million visitors, 2.6 percent less than in 2014, according to figures released by the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau (SEC).

Of the 30,714,628 visitors who travelled to Macau 20,410,615 were from mainland China, 4 percent fewer than in 2014.

About half of mainland Chinese visitors were from Guangdong province, where Macau is located, followed by the provinces of Fujian and Hunan.

The number of visitors from Hong Kong (6,534,543) and Taiwan (988,059) registered increases of 1.7 percent and 3.6 percent.
