Macau airport expects to receive about six million passengers

The president of the Macau International Airport Company (CAM), Ma Iao Hang, said he expects to receive 5.95 million passengers in 2016 which is a 2.1 percent increase compared to 2015 when the airport handled 5.83 million passengers.

Cargo also increased in 2015 by about 4.49 percent reaching over 30,000 tons

The president of CAM expects the airport this year to receive 57,500 flights, o 6 percent more than the number of flights recorded in 2015

Currently, there are 30 airlines operating from Macau to 44 destinations.

Ma also said that since the number of passengers is approaching the airport’s maximum capacity – 6 million passengers per year- the expansion project for the airport has begun so that it can receive between 9 and 10 million passengers. (macauhub/MO)
