Agricultural project in Uige, Angola produces rice with support from CITIC-Construction

The “Gesterra” Agro-livestock project for arable land management, located in Sanza Pombo 155 kilometers from Uige in northern Angola, will harvest 10,000 tons of rice in the first four months of this year.

Gerson Paulo, director of the project, which has the technical support of Chinese company “CITIC-Construction” and employs 130 expatriate workers, said the planting area totals ​​9,433 hectares of which 500 are dedicated to rice cultivation.

The agricultural project, located on the bank of the Lucena River is also dedicated to the production of corn and beef cattle.

Paulo also said that equipment for rice processing and storage was also being built at the site. (macauhub/MO)
