Macau casino revenues fall in January for 20th consecutive month

Gross revenue from Macau casinos fell in January for the 20th consecutive month to 18.674 billion patacas (US$2.334 billion) a year on year fall of 21.4 percent, according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

Macau casinos closed 2015 with gross revenues of 230.840 billion patacas (US$28.855 billion), a figure that represented a contraction of 34.3 percent compared to 2014, when it totalled 351.521 billion patacas (US$43.94 billion).

At the end of 2015 there were 36 casinos in Macau owned by six concession holders, 20 by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, four by Venetian Macau, four by Melco Crown Jogos (Macau), one by Wynn Resorts (Macau) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a total of 5,957 tables and 14,578 slot machines.
