Consumer confidence in Cabo Verde falls in 4th quarter of 2015

Cabo Verde’s (Cape Verde’s) consumer confidence indicator in the fourth quarter of 2015 recorded the lowest value of the series, falling year on year, the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Cabo Verde said Wednesday.

On publishing the Monthly Economic Consumer Survey for the last quarter of 2015, INE said that both the economic situation of families and the country negatively evolved in the same quarter.

About 87 percent of respondents felt that with the current economic situation in the country it would not be possible to make savings, an increase of 15 percentage points compared to 72 percent in the same quarter of last year.

Also according to the survey both the financial situation of families and the economic situation of the country is expected to evolve negatively over the next 12 months. (macauhub/CV)
