The results of the 2nd Companies Census (Cempre) in Mozambique should be published by December, reported the National Statistics Institute, cited by Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias.
Data collection, which began in September 2015, will continue this year between May and September in central and northern Mozambique.
The schedule shows that data collection from the statistical units – large companies, small and medium-sized livestock farms, micro and small enterprises with movable headquarters, households with domestic servants – will take place from 23 May to the end of September this year.
The census will also collect information about financial and insurance activities, international organisations and other extraterritorial institutions, political parties and public defense and security units, which have been defined as special cases.
Data collection in the southern region was completed last February after starting in September 2015. The process established the existence of 24,839 companies and institutions, distributed through the provinces of Inhambane (5,179), Gaza (4,167) , Maputo province (5,002) and Maputo city (10,491).
