Three islands of the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) archipelago – Boa Vista, Sal and Santo Antao – are on the list of the top 10 in Africa, according to a list compiled by the Trip Advisor travel website.
The list headed by Mauritius, which names the best islands to visit and spend a holiday in 2016, puts Boa Vista in 5th place, followed by Sal in 6th and Santo Antao in 9th place.
In relation to Boa Vista, Trip Advisor mentions birdsong, turtles and whales that can be seen in the shallow waters of the island and describes the landscape that invites visitors to discover charms such as exploring the Duke of Braganza Fort, built to protect the islet of Sal Rei from pirates.
The highlights of Sal include its beaches and stretches of white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters, a perfect setting for a restful day taking in the sun, and it is also excellent for lovers of water sports and divers as it has a wide variety of tropical fish, turtles and dolphins.
As for the island of Santo Antao, Trip Advisor makes no mention of its features, but it boasts the landscapes of Paúl, among others.
The list is headed by Mauritius, and besides the three islands of Cabo Verde, in order, includes Zanzibar, Nosy Be (Madagascar), Praslin, La Digue and Mahe, all in the Seychelles. (macauhub/CV)
