Angola’s first international exhibition on mining, oil and manufacturing may be held later this year in a joint initiative of the ministries of Geology and Mining, Oil and Industry, said Wednesday in Luanda the minister of Geology and Mining.
Francisco Queiroz, who was speaking at the opening of the 5th Consultative Council of the sector, said that in partnership with other ministries, the Geology and mining Ministry still want to make a global scale platform to attract investment that “hopefully will have great impact on investors. ”
The minister, referring to the National Geology Plan (Planageo), currently underway, said they 773 target areas had already been identified, 138 of which were classified as a priority.
“In spite of still being at a preliminary stage, the acquisition, processing and interpretation of geological information obtained to date makes it possible to select hundreds of magnetic anomalies with signs that are favourable for the exploration of metallic minerals such as gold, iron and copper and radiometric anomalies with favourable indicators for the exploration of uranium, thorium, phosphate and others,” said Francisco Queiroz.(macauhub/AO)
