China is willing to help Guinea-Bissau to achieve food self-sufficiency, which “will require work and the involvement of all Guineans,” China’s ambassador, Wang Hua said in Canchungo.
“There is a lot of work to do for Guinea-Bissau to reach its food independence and solve the hunger problem in the country,” said the Chinese diplomat, who stressed the need for joint efforts between Guineans and the international community.
Wang Hua noted Guinea-BIssau’s excellent climate and soil conditions for producing food and supplying the population and restated his support for the country in making this wish come true.
The ambassador was speaking at the weekend shortly after he delivered drugs and office supplies worth 7 million CFA francs to the administration of the Regional Hospital “Buoata In Fantchamna” in Canchungo, northern Guinea-Bissau.
The construction of this hospital, in the 1980s, was paid for by China, and it treats patients from across the country as well as countries in the region, such as Guinea-Conakry, Gambia and Senegal. (macauhub/CN/GW)
