Macau received over 14.7 million visitors from January to June, a number that represents a marginal increase of 0.1% year on year, reported the Statistics and Census Bureau.
The visitors who entered Macau in the first half of the year, with a monthly average of 2.46 million people, mostly came from mainland China (9.74 million or 66% of the total), followed by people from Hong Kong (3.05 million).
The visitors remained in the Territory for an average of 1.2 days, or an additional 0.2 days, in annual terms.
In June, Macau received 2.35 million visitors, an annual increase of 4.9% and a decrease of 4.8% compared to May 2016.
Of the visitors registered in June, over 1.5 million were from mainland China (a 5.7% increase year on year), mainly from Guangdong province (657,000), Hunan (67,000) and Fujian (59,000). (macauhub/MO)
