Gross casino gaming revenue in Macau fell 4.5 percent to 17.774 billion patacas (US$2.221 billion) in July, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reports.
The July figure (the 26th consecutive monthly decrease since June 2014) is the lowest since December 2010, when gross casino gaming revenue was 18.883 billion patacas.
The negative percentage variation posted in July was notably the second lowest in 2016 in monthly terms after February’s variance of -0.1 percent.
Gross accumulated revenue from games of fortune between January and July amounted to 125.560 billion patacas (US$15.695 billion), down 10.5 percent over the figure for the same period in 2015.
At the end of the first half of 2016 six concessionaires operated 36 casinos in Macau: Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (20), Galaxy Casino (6), Venetian Macau (4), Melco Crown Jogos – Macau (4), Wynn Resorts – Macau (1) and MGM Grand Paradise (1). Together they counted 5,998 gaming tables and 13,706 slot machines. (Macauhub/MO)
