9 August 2016

The 52nd Maputo International Fair (FACIM-2016) will be held from 29 August to 4 September in Ricatla, Maputo province, and a total of 29 countries and regions have registered so far, the organisers indicated.

The Export Promotion Institute (Ipex) specified that companies had registered from Portugal, South Africa, Italy, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Germany, Brazil, Italy, France, Angola, Macau, Indonesia, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Thailand, Swaziland, Botswana, Tanzania, Malawi, United Kingdom, Belarus, Sudan, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, besides the host country.

An Ipex source cited by the Maputo-based daily Notícias said more countries and regions would most likely register to take part in Mozambique’s most important trade fair. At last year’s fair 30 countries and regions were represented.

A total of 3,780 Mozambican and 630 foreign companies had registered by the end of last week, according to the organisers.

The Maputo International Fair will this year occupy 12 pavilions, at least four of which are reserved for foreign countries and exhibitors. (Macauhub/AO/MO/MZ/PT)
