35 countries to take part in Mozambique’s Maputo International Fair

15 August 2016

This year’s Maputo International Fair (Facim 2016) will be attended by official and business participants from 35 countries, up from the 31 present in 2015, reports the Mozambican newspaper Domingo.

The increase is most likely due to the fair being held at the same time as the Economic and Business Forum of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), for which only Angola has yet to confirm.

This year’s fair runs from 29 August to 4 September. Countries that usually take part and which account for most companies, such as South Africa, Zambia, Brazil, Germany and Italy, have already begun work preparing the respective pavilions.

More than 700 foreign companies taking part individually have confirmed their presence and will join delegations from their respective countries. For its part, around 3,200 Mozambican companies are registered, versus 2,250 last year.

The CPLP Business and Economic Forum will have its own space at Facim 2016, in which all member countries, including Mozambique, are represented. (Macauhub/MZ)
