Xu Yingzhen of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce is since last week the new secretary-general of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macau), indicates an official announcement.
Formerly the commercial counsellor of the ministry’s Department of American and Oceanian Affairs, Xu took office on Thursday as secretary-general of the Forum Macau Permanent Secretariat.
Xu, who has been in Macau since July, replaces Chang Hexi, who headed the institution for eight years.
A statement released by Forum Macau explains that “the new secretary-general has extensive experience in foreign affairs and good knowledge of the current situation of the Portuguese language countries. She has also taken part in work associated to previous Forum ministerial conferences.”
In the last quarter of 2016 Macau will host the fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. (Macauhub/CN/MO)
