Macau promotes cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries in Fujian

5 September 2016

The Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will organise a visit by a delegation of entrepreneurs from Macau to Fujian province for the 19th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), IPIM said.

The visit by the Macau delegation, according to IPIM, aims to generate new opportunities for cooperation and business exchange between mainland China, Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries.

Macau debuts as the “Invited Region of Honour “at CIFIT, taking place in the city of Xiamen, Fujian province, from 8 to 11 September, taking advantage of the trip to hold the “Dynamic Week of Macau – Xiamen, Fujian.”

CIFIT 2016, whose theme is “Focus on the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative – Promotion of Bilateral Investment”, will publicise and promote investment opportunities in countries and regions covered by ‘One Belt, One Road’.

Macau, which will have a pavilion at the event, will take advantage of the fact that the city is this year’s “Invited Region of Honour” at CIFIT to promote the role of the territory as a service platform for trade cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.

The President of IPIM, Jackson Chang, said CIFIT provides an excellent opportunity to promote Macau, while adding to the new impetus on business cooperation between Fujian, Macau and the Portuguese-speaking countries. (macauhub/CN/MO/PT)
