Gross casino gaming revenues in Macau increased year on year in September by 7.4% to 18.396 billion patacas (US$2.3 billion), said the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
The increase in September, higher than the 1.1% recorded in August, appears to have confirmed the reversal of the series of declines in gross revenue that began in June 2014 and lasted for 26 months until July 2016.
Gross revenues from January to September totalled 162.792 billion patacas (US$20.349 billion), which represents a year on year fall of 7.5%.
At the end of the first half of 2016 there were 36 casinos in Macau, 20 run by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, six by Galaxy Casino, four by Venetian Macau, three by Melco Crown Gaming (Macau), one by Wynn Resorts (Macau ) and one by MGM Grand Paradise, which had a 5,998 gambling tables and 13,706 slot machines.
