Macau and Beijing sign cooperation programme

The ceremony to launch and sign the Macau-Beijing Cooperation Partnership programme in 2016, which will carry out f cooperation activities between the two cities is due to take place in Macau on Thursday, said the Macau government spokesman.

The governments of the two cities decided to establish the partnership programme to deepen bilateral cooperation. The first activity under the scheme will focus on “cooperation, innovation and development,” and will be held in Macau, highlighting the strengthening of exchanges and cooperation in the areas of the economy and trade, among young people, culture, education and regional integration.

The activities undertaken by the end of the year include signing several cooperation agreements in the area of technological research and innovation by the Zhongguancun National Innovation (http://en.zhongguancun.gov.cn/) demonstration are and higher education establishments in Macau, the promotion of the Olympic Winter Games and Beijing Paralympic Winter Games in 2022 and participation in the Horticulture Expo in 2019 in Beijing.

The signing of the Macau-Beijing 2016 Cooperation Partnership programme will be witnessed and chaired by the Macau Chief Executive, Chui Sai On and the Mayor of Beijing, Wang Anshun. (macauhub)
