Cristina Morais term as coordinator of the Support Office to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese Speaking Countries ended on 2 November, according to an order of the Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance.
The order from Secretary Leong Vai Tac appoints Cristina Morais for a period of one year to the post of head of the Department of External Economic Relations of the Macau Economic Office, with effect from 3 November.
After replacing Echo Chan as coordinator of the Support Office to the Permanent Secretariat of Macau Forum, Morais now returns to the position she held from 2009 until 2 November 2015 and between 2003 and 2009 she was the interim head of this department.
The Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macau), known as Macau Forum, was created in October 2003 through a Chinese government initiative, in coordination with seven Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Timor-Leste (East Timor) and with the collaboration of the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The Macau Forum is a multilateral cooperation mechanism aimed at the consolidation of economic and trade exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, using Macau as a connecting platform. (macauhub)
