Macau receives over 25 million visitors from January to October

Macau received over 25.54 million visitors from January to October, a marginal increase of 0.2% when compared to the number recorded in the same period of 2015, reported the Statistics and Census Bureau.

The number of visitors from mainland China (16.96 million) and Hong Kong (5.3 million) in the first 10 months of the year fell 0.4% and 2.2%, respectively, year on year, while visitors from South Korea (529,570) and Taiwan (896,340) rose 16.8% and 9.5%, respectively.

The average length of stay of tourists (2.2 days) increased by 0.1 days year on year.

In October, 2.67 million visitors entered Macau, a figure which represents an annual increase of 1.6% year on year and 10.4% compared to September, due to holidays related to the foundation of the People’s Republic of China. (macauhub)
