Chicken meat exports from Brazil to China in the first 11 months of 2016 increased 63% compared to the same period of 2015, announced the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).
According to the association China imported 451,000 tonnes of chicken meat to become the second largest importer soon after Saudi Arabia.
Exports of chicken meat to Hong Kong, until November of this year grew 6% and reached 228,000 tonnes.
Forecasts suggest that global poultry meat exports from Brazil in 2016 will total around 4.39 million tonnes.
In terms of pork exports, Brazil sent to China in the first 11 months of the year 82,100 tonnes, or an increase of 1,952%, while exports to Hong Kong in the same period reached 152,8009 tonnes, a rise of 39%.
China is the world’s third largest importer of pork from Brazil.
Global pork exports from Brazil in 2016, according to data from ABPA, should reach 720,000 tonnes, representing a 30% increase over the previous year. (macauhub)
