22 December 2016

Isabel dos Santos, chair of the board of directors of Angola’s Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis (Sonangol) group, will lead the executive committee of the company Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção (P&P) after dismissing all its previous members, the group announced in a statement released in Luanda.

The statement indicates that Sonangol P&P was the Sonangol group company which during a recent evaluation “presented more management weaknesses and consequent financial deviations”.

The executive committee of Sonangol P&P was chaired by Carlos Saturnino Guerra Sousa e Oliveira. The other members were Carlos Alberto Figueiredo, Walter Costa Manuel do Nascimento, Guilherme de Aguiar Ventura and Ricardo Jorge Pereira A. Van-Deste.

Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção is a subsidiary of the Angolan oil group whose aim is to conduct the activities of exploration, research and production of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons.

Sonangol P&P has been operating since 1994 and currently produces 46,000 barrels per day. It is involved in exploitation of various oil-producing blocs in Angola, Brazil, Cuba and Iraq. (Macauhub)
