Chinese company Fujian Shiahai is due in March 2017 to start construction of the fishing port and a hotel in the town of Prabis in northern Guinea-Bissau, announced this weekend the local representative of the company, Fode Djassi.
Djassi said that the Chinese side is setting up conditions, including the capital needed to finance the work in Prabis, and that the project was now waiting for approval from the Guinea-Bissau authorities.
The president of the Chinese company, Yan Macky, giving Christmas gifts to children in Prabis, justified the choice of Guinea-Bissau to carry out this investment “with the warm welcome we received in the country.”
Construction of the fishing port and a hotel, whose costs were not disclosed, will employ at least 3,000 people, including Chinese technicians and Guinean workers. (macauhub)
