Exhibition of food from Portuguese-speaking countries open for another six months

The Special Exhibition of Food Products from Portuguese Speaking Countries will remain open until 30 June, 2017 in order to allow more people and traders to get to know those products, said the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the exhibition’s organiser.

The Special Exhibition of Food Products from Portuguese Speaking Countries includes a variety of wines, canned foods, processed foods, spices, coffee, tea, milk, juices and other food products especially selected from Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde (Cape Verde), Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and Timor-Leste (East Timor).

The exhibition has been visited by over 8,000 people from 18 October 2016 to date, mainly from mainland China, Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau .

Given the registered interest, the Exhibition Centre for Food from Portuguese Speaking Countries launched an interactive guide to promote food products from Portuguese-speaking countries, and via mobile phone users can access information on local wholesalers and retailers of food products and souvenirs from those countries, as well as nearby typical restaurants.

The Exhibition Centre for Food from Portuguese Speaking Countries, which became operational on 31 March this year, is a physical establishment reflecting Macau’s role as a “service platform for trade cooperation between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries” and provides residents, retailers and tourists with a place where you can find drinks and food products from those countries, allowing commercial establishments from China and the Portuguese-speaking countries to explore new business opportunities.
