The China Road and Bridge Corporation will design and build the bridge between the artificial border island of the Hong Kong/Zhuhai/Macau Bridge and Zone A of the new municipal landfills in Macau, according to an order from the Chief Executive published in the Official Bulletin, dated 2016.
The contract has a total cost of 135.3 million patacas (US$16.9 million) over three financial years, with completion scheduled for 2018.
The government of Macau, which paid 13.5 million patacas in 2016, will this year pay 50 million patacas and the remaining 71.7 million patacas in 2018.
The new municipal landfills are located between the eastern part of the Macau Peninsula, next to the Porto Exterior ferry terminal and the reservoir and the artificial island which will house services for the Hong Kong/Zhuhai/Macau Bridge, which should become operational in 2018. (macauhub)
