Angolan capital has the highest moving costs for foreigners

Luanda, the capital of Angola, is the city that has the highest costs for the first month for foreigners who move there in 2017, of an average US$3,259, according to a report released on Friday by specialist relocation company Movinga .

The company, based in Berlin, Germany, said in the report ( that the cost of moving to Luandais higher than in cities like New York (US$3,084 ) and San Francisco (US$3,050).

The first 10 places in the list put together by Movinga are occupied, besides the three cities already mentioned, by Zurich, London, Hong Kong, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo and Seattle.

Cities with the lowest moving costs include Medellin (Colombia), Bucharest (Romania) and Tunis (Tunisia), where the costs in the first month are around US$397.

This is not the first time that Luanda has been considered the most expensive city in the world, after it came first in the annual cost of living reports published by Mercer in 2014 and 2015, before falling to second place in 2016.
