A delegation composed mainly of representatives of youth associations from Macau is visiting business innovation centres in Portugal ahead of the establishment in Macau of the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries, the Macau economic Services (MES) said.
The delegation, which is composed of 22 people, will visit several business incubators and innovation centres that, in addition increasing knowledge of the operation and direction of development of innovative institutions and entrepreneurship in Portugal, will allow Macau to increase communication between institutions and establish a connection system to coordinate preparatory work for installing the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries.
The delegation includes representatives of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in Macau and two business creation centres for young people, respectively, in the Nansha areas and Hengqin of the China Pilot Free Trade Zone (Guangdong), in order to boost exchanges between the young people of Macau, mainland China and Hong Kong in terms of innovation and entrepreneurship.
During the visit, which began Monday and will run until 17 February, representatives of Macau youth associations will share information about small and medium enterprises and youth entrepreneurship in Macau with Portuguese institutions, as well as study opportunities and the direction of future cooperation on both sides.
The establishment in Macau of the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of China and the Portuguese Speaking Countries was one of the measures announced by the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, to support Macau in October 2016 at the 5th Conference Ministerial Forum Macau. (macauhub)
