Angolan companies will begin this month to receive state payments in arrears since 2014 under the settlement programme approved by the government, said on Wednesday in Luanda the Ministry of Finance.
In the statement, the Secretary of the Treasury, Mario Nascimento, announced the resumption of settlement of arrears from 2014 to 2016 with Angolan companies “later this month,” as part of a strategy approved on 9 February at a joint meeting of the Economic and the Real Economy Commissions of the Council of Ministers.
The information added that the objective is to “generate some liquidity for economic operators (…) without losing sight of the effort to combat inflation.”
This priority focuses on sensitive and strategic sectors such as health, education and infrastructure projects under the Public Investment Programme. (macauhub)
