Chinese group Meitu Xiamen Technology Co. has launched on the Brazilian market translated versions of its photo editing programmes Airbrush and Makeup Plus, said the group’s director for Brazil, Ludmilla Veloso.
Speaking to the China Daily newspaper, Veloso recalled that the company arrived in Brazil in April 2016 and stressed “now the time has come to start selling part of our product range in the country.”
The director for Brazil also said that since the launch of the translated versions of the number of downloads of Meitu applications had grown by 840%, and the group now has 10 million users in Brazil.
“It gives us the feeling that Brazil was waiting for someone to fill the existing void and the Meitu group arrived at the right time,” Veloso told China Daily.
This year the Brazilian subsidiary of the group expects to launch a number of new applications, after they are translated, to increase its customer base and try to turn “use of Meitu programmes into a habit,” according to the group’s director for Brazil. (macauhub)
