China plans to invest in the agricultural and industrial sectors and in the processing of products in eastern Angola, notably in Lunda Sul province, China’s ambassador to Angola said on Wednesday in Saurimo.

Ambassador Cui Aimin was speaking at the end of a meeting with the provincial governor, Cândida Narciso, which discussed bilateral cooperation between the provinces of Lunda Sul and Hunan and Guangdong, in China, according to Angolan state news agency Angop .

The diplomat is making visits as part of the economic and financial assistance agreement signed between the Presidents of China, Xi Jinping, and Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, having recently visited Bié and Malanje, where he expressed China’s interest in deepening cooperation in the areas of textiles, agri-livestock, public health and human resources training.

The ambassador also said that China’s government was studying the possibility of increasing financing for construction of social infrastructure in Malanje, under the Chinese credit line to Angola, approved in the second half of 2016.

“China will continue to support the Angolan government in the materialisation of actions aimed at the welfare of the population and the country’s development,” said Cui Aimin. (macauhub)
