Macau receives more than 5 million visitors in January/February

Macau received 5.37 million visitors in January and February, a figure that represents an increase of 5.5% over the one recorded in the same period of 2016, reported the Statistics and Census Bureau.

The visitors remained in the territory for an average of 1.2 days, an additional 0.1 days compared to the same period of last year, with the number from mainland China (3.6 million), South Korea (164 200) and Hong Kong (1.0 million) increasing 5.9%, 24.2% and 3.2%, respectively, and visitors from Taiwan (171,200) falling by 0.7%.

In February, Macau received 2.49 million visitors, a variation of -5.6% compared to February 2016 and down 13.2% compared to January 2017. (macauhub)
